就該法令來講，盜竊罪个定義係「a person steals who , without the consent of the owner , fraudulently andwithout a claim of right made in good faith ; takes and carries away anything capable of being stolen , with the intent at the time of such taking , permanently to deprive the ownerthereof . Provided that a person may be guilty of stealing any such thing notwithstanding that he has lawful possession thereof , if , being a bailee or part owner thereof , he fraudulently converts the same to his own use or the use of any person other than the owner」。<br />

《 一九一六年盜竊罪法令》一九六九年一月初一廢除，就無過適用在該日期以後所犯个罪行。根據《一九六八年盜竊罪法令》第一 ( 一 ) 條，原有个盜竊罪（larceny）分還較多个盜竊罪（theft）取代个。下後个人納入了前者个該兜術語摎實質內容。<br />
